Step 1: Prepare Your Figma Prototype

To optimize performance and minimize load time for participants, we recommend creating a new, dedicated Figma file containing only the necessary frames for your usability test.

Step 2: Set File Permissions

Open the Figma project that you want to test with Genway.

From the top-right corner of your screen, click Share to open the sharing settings.

  1. Under FILE Sharing, set access to Anyone with the link.

  2. Ensure that permissions are set to Can view.

  3. Check the box that says ‘Viewers can copy, share, and export this file.’

These settings allow Genway to load your prototype without issues.

Step 3: Declare the Starting Point

Before copying your prototype link, declare a starting point frame so Genway knows where to begin the usability flow.

If you are using the old design of Figma - please refer to Figma's official website

Navigate to your prototype view in Figma.

Choose a frame to serve as the Starting Point. (To view all prototype interactions, press Shift + E)

Step 4: Copy the link back to Genway

Copy the prototype link

Go back to Genway and paste the copied link.

Once Genway imports your prototype, the system will automatically pull all screens with interactions. You can view and confirm every screen included in the usability test to ensure the flow is correct before publishing.

Thank you for following this guide and happy testing!
